About Local 2

UniteHere! Local 2 is the union of hospitality workers in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. Local 2's 12,000 members include roomcleaners, dishwashers, cooks, bell staff, servers, and others who welcome guests to the Bay Area. It is an affiliate of UniteHere!, which represents hundreds of thousands of workers throughout North America.

Local 2's history dates back to 1886. Since that time, hospitality workers in the San Francisco area have fought to secure livable wages and a real voice on the job. Today that struggle continues, as workers at San Francisco's union hotels negotiate new contracts, and workers at non-union hotels organize.
